Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

These by far, are the BEST cookies, and I refuse to make chocolate chip cookies with white flour anymore.    This isn't a recipe that I came up with on my own, in fact I found it a while back on the Betty Crocker website, and it is fantastic!  Remember the 1st batch of cookies in the oven will take the longest to cook because the cookie sheets have not been heated up previously.

3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 package (12oz or 2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips

preheat oven to 375F

Cream together both sugars and butter, add vanilla and egg.  Mix well to combine.  In separate bowl combine flour, soda and salt.  Add slowly to butter mixture with mixer on.  Dough will be stiff.  Mix in the chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet (I use my oxo scoop) Bake for about 10 mins, let rest on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes before placing on wire rack to cool.

  3. Mom made the cookies with Crisco instead of butter and white wheat flower. She also added a lot of walnuts. They are DELICIOUS!
